REINE ASTRA | First Sunrise of 2020, Huatulco, Mexico.
This was our second time celebrating the first sunrise of the New Year vs. attending a midnight party with champagne and fireworks. A tradition here in Huatulco, Mexico on Playa Chahue, and we were excited to ring in a new decade with the sun in our eyes.
Hours before as the clock struck midnight while I listened to explosions of fireworks all over town I officially my launched my YouTube Channel and shared the link when I knew everyone would be checking their phones.
Technically, I created the site months before and was quietly practicing editing, uploading and merging audio. Starting a YouTube channel has so many moving parts which I had to learn in addition to actually teaching myself how to edit video.

This is VIDEO #3… not number 3 of what I decided to keep… this is literally my third attempt at creating a video and I’m surprised at how quickly I’m learning. This is also the video where I received my first copyright strike. I looked for music that was free to use… or, so I thought. The first edit was much better teaching me that there is an art to merging video with the best audio.
Over the past 5 years with moving to both the Yukon & Mexico, I put my personal work on hold to settle into new environments, countries and communities while also creating amazing memories. The best years of my life to date. Now I feel stable and inspired by my new surroundings to begin adding the art back in!
